Rough Plan for filming
We are planning to film the opening two minutes of our film tomorrow night ( 8th march) and if needed on monday night as well (11th march). The opening part of the scene will take place in the woods in Great Houghton as it is near Jenna's house. We will be filming at night, probably around 7/8 o'clock as it needs to be dark in order for the scene to be as realistic as possible (nobody kidnaps people in the day), minimal props will be required as it is a simple scene where Jordan (Harry Lewis) will stalk and then proceed to chase Jenna (Robyn Lewis) through the woods. All that's needed is dark clothing for Jordan and Jenna will just be wear ordinary clothes.
The second part of the scene is where most props will be needed. It will be filmed in my outhouse where it is dark and (sort of) creepy. We will put a table in there which Jenna will wake up tied to. Which is when we'll need probs such as rope etc... it will again need to be filmed late at night as the outhouse does has windows and if it's light outside it would decrease the "scare factor" of the scene.
Hopefully it should not take too long to film and each scene should be recorded in about 2 hours at most, the first scene (in the woods) will most likely take longer (depending on how annoying Jordan is feeling that day).

Further research into genre
Director Suparn Verma promises that his upcoming horror film 'Aatma' will go beyond the same canned plot and will tap into the audiences' deepest fears. He also says the film does not have the usual ugly, melting face or weird camera angles to scare the audience out of their wits and will definitely make them sit up. The film is a supernatural drama which is grounded in emotions. It takes a family scenario which is very real as two parents are going through a bad patch and the kid is caught in between.
Aatma is expected to be an extremely successful horror as it uses emotions and the sense of reality in order to captivate the audience and terrify them. We have decided that we will use these factors in our production, similarly we have also based it around a family.

Official logo
This is my final and official draft of the logo and the one that the group are going to use, I used the same 'JMJ productions' name as that is the name of our group. JMJ meaning Jenna, Mitch, Jordan. Although it doesn't have the camera like I used in the last one it is much more colourful which in my opinion looks a lot better.

Psychological horror
I decided that a good sub genre for us to base our film on would be psychological horror/thriller, this is so that we could use our knowledge of media concepts such as mise en scène, cinematography, editing and sound to create the first two minutes of a film that builds up a characters fears and emotional instability to build tension while playing on archetypal* shadow characteristics portrayed by threat. We are going to aim to create discomfort by exposing common psychological vulnerabilities and fears which the audience would be able to relate to easier than a sub genre such as vampires/witchcraft/wolves/zombies.
*An archetype is a universally understood symbol, term, statement, or pattern of behaviour, a prototype upon which others are copied, patterned, or emulated.

Subgenres of Horror
Horror Films are unsettling films designed to frighten and panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience. Horror films effectively centre on the dark side of life, the forbidden, and strange and alarming events. They deal with our most primal nature and its fears: our nightmares, our vulnerability, our alienation, our revulsion's, our terror of the unknown, our fear of death and dismemberment, loss of identity, or fear of sexuality.
